CALL FOR PROPOSALS “ERC” Research Grants

The Department of Information Engineering has published a call to assign research grants to promote the participation of young researchers in ERC calls.

The research grant, with duration between 12 and 24 months for a gross annual amount of € 28,450, will be aimed at carrying out innovative research projects autonomously presented by candidates with a doctoral degree and proven record of post-doctoral research experience; the selected candidates are expected to submit, by the end of their contract, an ERC Starting Grant proposal with DEI as Host Institution.

An additional budget of 10.000€ for research costs will be allocated.

The candidate is expected to have published several papers in major international scientific journals, subject to peer-reviewed evaluation, as main author or without the participation of his/her PhD supervisor. The candidate's CV and track record must show his/her independence and the ability to conduct original research.

The selection procedures will be concluded approximately by mid-September.

The activities of the selected candidates must begin not later than December 1, 2018.

REQUIREMENTS (*)
  • doctoral degree
  • proven post-doc research activities (min 24 months)
  • representative journal papers as first/prevalent author and/or with no contribution of the PhD supervisor published in the first quartile of any WoS/Scopus categories
  • possession of at least 1 of the following requirements:
  1. participation in past and ongoing grants funded by national/international institutions
  2. invited talks at international conferences
  3. awards for scientific achievements including affiliation to well-known scientific  societies
