I server installati presso il nostro dipartimento sono pensati per soddisfare le richieste di risorse di calcolo da parte degli utenti.
È possibile eseguire sul cluster qualsisasi applicazione a 32 o 64 bit che eseguireste abitualmente da uno dei PC Linux della rete DEI (ad esempio MATLAB) o qualsiasi programma da voi ricompilato. Le varie richieste vengono prese in carico dal programma di gestione del server, accodate in base ad un sistema di priorità ed eseguite dalla risorsa di calcolo più adeguata in quel momento.
I risultati della computazione che normalmente comparirebbero a video vengono salvati in un file di output.

Basic concepts
The servers of our department are configured to meet the needs of computing resources of their users.
It is possible to run on the cluster any 32 or 64 bit application that you would normally run from one of the Linux PCs of the DEI network (for example, MATLAB) or any program you have recompiled yourself. The various requests are taken over by the cluster management program, queued on the basis of a priority system and executed by the most suitable computing resource at that time.
The computation results that would normally appear on screen are saved in an output file.
