Seminario: The mysteries of Quantum Physics and their applications
13.03.2014
Quantum Physics is full of astonishing, counter-intuitive phenomena, like Heisenberg's uncertainty principle, quantum superposition (Schrödinger cat) and entanglement. This lead to an animated philosophical debate in the early 20th century when the Quantum Theory was developed. But only quite recently, this very weird features have found surprising applications. This talk aims to present in a simple, non-technical way the mysteries of quantum physics and introduce a few applications like Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Random Number Generators and a quantum Radiometer.
