Short Bio
Giacomo Baruzzo got a Bachelor Degree in Information Engineering at University of Padova in 2011. He got a Master Degree in Computer Engineering (2013, Advisor Prof. Gianfranco Bilardi; final mark: 110/110) and a Ph.D. in Information Engineering (2017, Advisor Prof. Barbara Di Camillo) at University of Padova, working on genome assembly and sequence alignment topics. From 2017 to 2021, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova, working on computational methods for mining biological data coming from high-throughput sequencing technologies. From January 2022, he is a researcher (RTDa) at the Department of Information Engineering, University of Padova, and he works in the SysBioBig lab (System Biology and Bioinformatics Group) with Prof. Barbara Di Camillo. His current research is aimed at developing efficient algorithms, methods and software for the preprocessing, analysis and interpretation of biological data from high-throughput sequencing technologies, especially single cell RNA-Sequencing, bulk RNA-Sequencing and 16S rDNA-Sequencing.
