Stefano Tomasin ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca presso l'Università di Padova nel 2003. Durante gli studi ha svolto stage presso IBM Research (Svizzera) e Philips Research (Paesi Bassi). È entrato a far parte dell'Università di Padova dove è stato ricercatore (2005-2015), professore associato (2016-2022) e professore ordinario (dal 2022). È stato visiting faculty presso Qualcomm, San Diego (CA) nel 2004, il Politecnico di Brooklyn (NY) nel 2007 e il Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Laboratory di Huawei a Parigi (Francia) nel 2015. I suoi attuali interessi di ricerca comprendono la sicurezza a livello fisico, la sicurezza dei sistemi globali di navigazione satellitare, l'elaborazione del segnale per le comunicazioni wireless, la sincronizzazione e lo scheduling delle risorse di comunicazione. È membro senior dell'IEEE dal 2011 (membro dal 1999) e membro di EURASIP dal 2011. È o è stato Editor delle IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technologies (2011-2016), delle IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing (2017-2020), dell'EURASIP Journal of Wireless Communications and Networking (dal 2011) e delle IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (dal 2020). Ricopre inoltre il ruolo di Deputy Editor-in-Chief delle IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security dal gennaio 2023.
Stefano Tomasin received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2003. During his studies he did internships with IBM Research (Switzerland) and Philips Research (Netherlands). He joined the University of Padova where he has been Assistant Professor (2005-2015), Associate Professor (2016-2022), and Full Professor (since 2022). He was visiting faculty at Qualcomm, San Diego (CA) in 2004, the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn (NY) in 2007 and the Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Laboratory of Huawei in Paris (France) in 2015. His current research interests include physical layer security, security of global navigation satellite systems, signal processing for wireless communications, synchronization, and scheduling of communication resources. He is a senior member of IEEE since 2011 (member since 1999) and a member of EURASIP since 2011. He is or has been an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technologies (2011-2016), of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing (2017-2020), of the EURASIP Journal of Wireless Communications and Networking (since 2011) and of the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (since 2020). He serves also as a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security since January 2023.
